Ottawa Black Bears: *Updated Schedule* Youth Development Clinics

Hello Griffins Families,  

We are thrilled to share an exciting new opportunity for our Griffins and our community!

This Family Day weekend, Ottawa's new National Lacrosse League (NLL) team, the Ottawa BLack Bears, are hosting a series of Youth Development Clinics, designed to nurture young talent and provide a fun, educational experience for players of all skill levels. This is an incredible chance for your young athlete to learn from the pros, develop their skills, and get involved in the growing lacrosse community on the official Ottawa Black Bears turf!

Here is the updated schedule of the weekend's events:

  • Friday Feb 14
    • Skills & Drills - COMPETITIVE - 5:00 to 6:30 PM
    • Fundementals - 7:00 to 8:30 PM
  • Saturday Feb 15
    • Girls Clinic - 8:30 to 10:00 AM
    • Skils & Drills and Defensive Clinics - BEGINNER - 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM
    • Skils & Drills and Defensive Clinics - INTERMEDIATE - 1:00 to 2:30 PM
    • Defensive Clinic - COMPETITIVE - 3:00 to 4:30 PM
    • Goalie Clinic - 5:00 to 6:30 PM
  • Sunday Feb 16
    • 6 Team Challenge - Round Robin - Ages 8-10 - 8:00 to 11:30 AM
    • 6 Team Challenge - Round Robin - Ages 11-13 - 12:00 to 3:30 PM
    • 6 Team Challenge - Semis & Finals - Ages 8-10 - 4:00 to 5:45 PM
    • 6 Team Challenge - Round Robin - Ages 11-13 - 6:00 to 7:45 PM
    • Chalk Talk: Coaching Clinic - 7:00 to 9:00 PM
  • Monday Feb 17
    • Try Lacrosse - 9:00 to 11:00 AM
    • Chalk Talk: Prepare to Go Pro - 12:00 to 2:00 PM

Players will be required to bring their own equipment for all sessions.

Sticks will be provided for Try Lacrosse. Participants must bring a properly fitted helet with cage.

All sessions will be held at Canadian Tire Centre.

This event promises to be a fantastic way to kick off the 2025 lacrosse season, and we encourage all of our members to take advantage of this unique opportunity. The clinics will focus on key lacrosse skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship, all while having fun!
