New in 2022, the Gloucester Lacrosse Association will be partnering with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board’s Indigenous Education and Learning Team to deliver an introductory elementary school Lacrosse program. The program will deliver prepared curriculum aimed at introducing students to the sport’s strong Indigenous roots and historical significance as well as provide information related to the current delivery modes for various forms of Lacrosse. Furthermore, this program will offer the opportunity for students to pick up a stick, learn some basic skills and have fun! In 2022, the intent is to deliver this program to 50 schools with growth anticipated in subsequent years.

These are paid positions and may require multiple candidates to fulfill the program as intended. Candidate(s) will report to the Board of Directors and will liaise with Stephanie Pagan, President of GLA to coordinate and plan school talks and visits.
We are aiming to provide Grade 4 & 5 classes with a virtual learning opportunity related to the cultural and historical significance of Lacrosse in March/April. The second program component will be conducted in-person and outdoors in May/June and will constitute the activity component.

In the event multiple candidates apply for the position, there will be an interview process conducted by an interview selection board. The questions will be provided in advance. The Board may also consider hiring multiple individuals in the selection process and would assign schools and roles accordingly.
