Dear Griffins Families,

In February, Canadian Tire Corporation announced an additional $12 million commitment to Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund to help sport and recreation organizations build back sport and play in Canada in part due to the State of Sport study conducted by Jumpstart via Ipsos.  Not surprisingly, this survey revealed the pandemic has not only impacted current access to sport and play but has real long-term effects as well.

Today, we are excited to share that the GLA has received confirmation that we are amongst over 500 sport and recreation organizations nationally and 1 of 15 OLA Clubs to be provided with grant support through the latest round of Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund. In 2021, Jumpstart has already disbursed over $9 million in funding to more than 800 organizations across Canada through Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund. We are beyond grateful to receive this news and know the positive impact it will have on sport and recreation organizations, and ultimately, on kids across the country.

What this means for the GLA is that with Jumpstart’s support we are able to continue in our financial recovery efforts resulting from the ongoing impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, we will remain a steadfast pillar in our LAX community; growing the game and delivering on our mission to offer fun and organized box lacrosse program(s) focused on fair play and improving lacrosse skills for all players for years to come.
